The ‘Second-Hand Book Fair’ is taking place at Al Safa Art and Design Library from 19th to 27th December, with the aim of spreading cultural awareness among the public and promoting reading as a daily habit.

Organised by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the ‘Second-Hand Book Fair’ initiative is a Dubai Public Libraries cultural programme aimed at contributing to the dissemination of knowledge, encouraging interest in books, recycling their use, and making them accessible to all. The items are sold at symbolic prices ranging between AED 3, 5 and 10, and are suitable for all age groups.

The exhibition, which is held in conjunction with the activities of the winter camp at Dubai Public Libraries, fits the framework of Dubai Culture’s commitments to instil a culture of reading in the hearts of future generations. The fair, which opens its doors daily from 8:00 until 20:pp, is one of the projects that highlight Dubai Culture’s compliance with the National Literacy Strategy 2016-2026, which aims to promote cultural values in society and support all aspects of culture, including arts and literature.
