Following a striking victory over Bangladesh, Pakistan has emphatically carved out its path to the semifinals in the currently underway five-nation basketball tournament in the Maldives. 

In the riveting face-off held on Sunday, the Pakistani team clinched an 84-64 triumph over the Bangladeshi contenders. 

From the onset, Pakistan demonstrated its commanding presence on the court. The team pulled ahead in the initial quarter, leading the scoreboard 20-15 and reflecting their formidable offensive skills. 

Nonetheless, Bangladesh exhibited tenacity, battling their way back in the second quarter to usurp the initial lead, edging slightly ahead with a scoreline of 37-34. 

Unfazed by Bangladesh’s retaliatory surge, Pakistan retaliated with an overpowering offence in the third quarter, unsettling the opposition and reclaiming the lead. 

Bangladesh found themselves challenged in their bid to counterstrike, scoring a paltry seven points. Pakistan, on the other hand, intensified their lead to 56-44 by amassing an exceptional 22 points.

Finally, Pakistan emerged victorious with a decisive 84-64 scoreline, guaranteeing their berth in the semifinals. Zain ul Hasan and Umair Jan spearheaded the Pakistani onslaught, each contributing a remarkable 19 points to the final tally. 

This triumph over Bangladesh represents Pakistan’s third successive win in the tournament, preceded by victories against Bhutan and the Maldives. 

After making a remarkable comeback to the international arena following a seven-year intermission, Pakistan eagerly looks forward to their semifinal matchup scheduled for June 20.
