Sanjay Manjrekar and Tom Moody, both ex-cricketers and current cricket commentators, have recently expressed their thoughts on which Pakistani cricketers would have been chosen to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL), should they be eligible.

Manjrekar voiced his belief that Haris Rauf, known for his skills in death overs, would be an ideal fit in the IPL. “Haris Rauf, one of the finest death bowlers, would be a tremendous asset in the IPL,” he stated in an interview with ESPNcricinfo.

When it came to discussing the batsmen, Manjrekar expressed his intrigue at the prospect of Fakhar Zaman joining an IPL team. “My mind often gravitates towards their bowlers rather than their batsmen. However, Fakhar Zaman could indeed be a compelling choice for some IPL teams,” he elaborated.

Manjrekar further added, “Rizwan plays the role of an anchor seamlessly. However, it does make me a tad nervous when Babar and Rizwan are at the crease together.”

On the other hand, Moody had a firm belief that the left-arm fast bowler, Shaheen Afridi, would be the first choice, given his game-changing performances and remarkable skills. The former Australian cricketer also noted the exceptional batting talent of Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, who has been a consistent performer in all cricket formats.

Moody asserted, “With talents like Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, Rizwan, and Shadab Khan, Pakistan has a roster full of incredible players, especially in this game format. Shaheen, undoubtedly, would be the top pick; he’s simply box office.”
