Devin Haney has named Vasiliy Lomachenko and Gervonta Davis as his ideal next two opponents after unifying the lightweight division.
The 23-year-old American turned in a punch-perfect display to beat George Kambosos Jr on enemy territory earlier this month, heading out to the champion’s homeland of Australia before returning home with all four world titles.
Kambosos Jr has signalled his intention to activate a rematch clause and Haney has vowed to be a man of his word and honour that agreement.
But if for some reason that fight doesn’t happen next, Haney has two other mouth-watering fights in mind.
‘The two I’d be interested in is Loma and Tank,’ Haney said in an interview with Tha Boxing Voice.
‘Those fights are the ones that interest me the most. But I’ll fight anyone. I’m a true fighter.’
Lomachenko was originally scheduled to fight Kambosos Jr this summer but the three-weight world champion pulled out of the fight after returning to Ukraine following the Russian invasion in February.
Lomachenko joined the territorial defence battalion shortly after arriving back in his homeland and it remains to be seen when the 34-year-old will resume his glittering career.
Haney and Davis meanwhile remain separated by promotional red tape, with the latter backed by Premier Boxing Champions and Mayweather Promotions.
‘Those fights interest me the most but we can’t always make those fights happen,’ Haney said.
‘It’s still a business and I understand that. We just gotta see what my team can come up with and see what’s realistic.’
