It is going to be an emotional night in Glasgow as Scotland host Ukraine in the World Cup Play-Off, with the winner going on to face Wales in Cardiff on Sunday for a place in Qatar.

The match has been postponed due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and it is going to be a difficult night for the travelling players due to what is still happening in their home country at the hands of Russia.

‘I am sure that the whole of Ukraine will be watching us. We will feel the support,’ said Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko.

‘We can talk a lot, but we need to prove everything on the field. We will try to make our people happy and proud.’

When is Scotland vs Ukraine?

The match kicks off at 7.45pm on Wednesday 1 June at Hampden.

Scotland vs Ukraine team news

Scotland are missing Kieran Tierney, Ryan Jack and Kenny McLean but Nathan Patterson, who has just ‘run out of time’ in recovering from an ankle operation, according to Steve Clarke is the only player in the squad who is not avaialable.

Andy Robertson and Scott McKenna were involved in the Champions League final and Championship Play-Off final respectively over the weekend, but both will be fine to play.

‘Everyone except Nathan [is fit],’ said Clarke on Tuesday. ‘Nathan has run out of time a little bit for the first game. So Nathan won’t be involved in the first game but everyone else is good to go.’
