Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum may have got a bit more of Daniel Radcliffe than they bargained for during the making of The Lost City, as the Harry Potter star has joked he was their ‘intimacy coach’ on set.
Sandra and Channing get up close and personal in the new action-comedy film, which sees Sandra, 57, play reclusive writer Loretta Strange, and Channing, 41, as handsome cover model Alan Caprison.
Daniel, 32, who plays Abigail Fairfax, an eccentric billionaire and the villain in the movie, teased that he was actually part of the filming process during a comedic nude scene, in which Sandra’s Loretta has to pick leeches off Channing’s character’s bum while coming insanely close to his penis.
Speaking to Pop Sugar about the moment, Daniel said: ‘I was the intimacy coach and I was just basically saying, “crack on there, guys, you guys got this”.’
In response, Sandra said: ‘Daniel also served as HR and was sort of there to say, ‘You guys you crossed the line’, [or] ‘Sandy you need to pull it back a little bit.’ So, he was just down there just off-camera.’
Daniel then quipped: ‘Getting a lot of complaints.’
Firing back, Sandra remarked: ‘I felt safe’.’
Sandra has previously said that the Magic Mike actor spent the majority of the movie ‘stupid naked’ and, we can’t lie, we can’t wait to see this film ourselves.
Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she added, of Channing’s nudity: ‘Full-on, face-to-face, with the landscape.
‘I had to spend some time down there. Just making sure uh, no leeches. I had a lot to say to it.’
Stephen then pointed out that during the scene, Sandra’s character reacts as if she’s just discovered Channing’s character is ‘generously endowed’ while enquiring whether this was the case in real life.
Sandra added: ‘Let’s just say that I honestly didn’t notice.’
‘When you are down there and you have two pages of dialogue, if you are looking directly at it, you will get nothing done. I looked at his left thigh. I had to look down where it might be, but I focused more on the left inner thigh.’
Other leads in the much-anticipated romantic-comedy-action movie include Brad Pitt, Oscar Nunez, Patti Harrison, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.
Meanwhile, Daniel has raved about Evan Rachel Wood appearing as Madonna in the Weird Al biopic.
The actor spoke to Metro.co.uk on the red carpet of The Lost City premiere, where he promised that the Weird Al Jankovic movie, in which he stars as the comedian, will see a ‘fantastic’ performance from Evan, 34, as pop star Madonna.
Remaining tight-lipped on the forthcoming movie’s storyline, the actor said: ‘I don’t want to say anything just because I don’t want to reveal the plot but what I will say is Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna is something the world does not know yet that it needs, but it needs it.
‘It is one of the most fantastic performances that I have been witness to.’
The Lost City will be released on April 15.
