Chris Rock stopped a fan from shouting about Will Smith at his stand-up show.

The comedian, whose world tour, Ego Death, kicked off following the chaos of the Oscars, was performing in Boston on Thursday night.

Chris’ shows come as the entertainment world still reels from the shocking moment on Sunday where Will strode on-stage and hit Chris in front of millions of viewers after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith.

Controversy over the slap is rife, with Will reportedly asked to leave the ceremony, and Chris allegedly not knowing Jada had alopecia when he compared her to GI Jane.

However it’s clear Chris won’t stand for people abusing Will following the incident, as he shut down a fan who shouted obscenities about the actor at his second Boston show.

According to People, Chris was performing at The Wilbur venue on Thursday when a fan shouted from the audience: ‘F*** Will Smith!’

To which Chris replied simply: ‘No, no, no, no, no.’

The comedian did not engage further with the heckler and continued his show as normal.

On Wednesday, the first night Chris performed since his altercation with Will, he briefly addressed the situation with the audience, allegedly with tears in his eyes

He admitted he is ‘still kind of processing what happened’ and would talk further about the situation ‘at some point’, adding that ‘it will be serious and funny.’

People also reports that Chris had ignored chants of ‘Will Smith’ from the audience on Wednesday, which eventually died out as he continued his show.

However he did tell audiences that he hasn’t ‘talked to anyone, ‘despite what you heard’, after P Diddy claimed Chris and Will immediately made it up after the ceremony.

He also joked that he didn’t have a ‘bunch’ of things to say about what occurred, ‘so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend’.

Chris was reportedly given a standing ovation by the audience before beginning his set.

Meanwhile, a new statement released by the Academy has revealed that Will – who was about to win his first-ever Oscar minutes after slapping Chris – was asked to leave but refused.

The organisation said that ‘things unfolded in a way we could not have anticipated’ but added they ‘could have handled the situation differently’.

An investigation has been launched by the Academy to determine any ‘appropriate action’ that could be taken against the Oscar-winner.
