Jack Tweed has said that he will ‘never get over’ his late wife Jade Goody as he marked the 13th anniversary of her death this week.
The 34-year-old married Jade in February 2009, a month before she died of cervical cancer.
He referred to her as the ‘love of his life’, as he shared that the grief never goes away.
Speaking to The Sun in a new interview, Jack shared: ‘It’s hard for anyone to replace Jade, because she will always be the love of my life.’
He added: ‘It doesn’t get easier. I will never get over Jade’s death, you just learn to deal with it better.
‘It doesn’t feel like it’s been 13 years at all. I can still hear her talking, and it feels like yesterday when I last saw her.’
The electrician also revealed that he still talks to her when he visits her grave, which also makes him sad ‘because obviously I know I will never get a reply’.
‘I don’t think I will ever not cry when I think about her,’ he admitted.
Jack, who has recently reconnected with Goody’s sons Bobby, 18, and Freddy, 17, with Jeff Brazier, said that he still finds it ‘hard to be on my own’ because he will think of Goody ‘and the life we could have had today’.
He also previously declared he would ‘never marry again’ as he had ‘been married to the person I wanted to get married to’.
Sharing that he would feel ‘like I was betraying her’ if he walked up the aisle again, the widower explained that he had his late wife’s permission regardless.
‘She said to me at the end, even though I didn’t want to listen or let her say it, she said, “I want you to meet someone.”’
Jack is currently dating a new partner but described it as ‘early days’ as he said that he had found it difficult ‘to form romantic relationships since Jade’.
Bobby and Freddy were four and five-years-old when Jack was their step-dad and are now young men.
Eldest Bobby is enjoying a successful modelling career, fronting campaigns for luxury designer brands such as Dolce and Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger.
Their father Jeff has since married Kate Dwyer, while Jack dated Chanelle Hayes in 2014, and had a girlfriend during lockdown, although that relationship ended because his ex felt she was ‘never going to compare’ to Goody.
He continues to remember Jade and encourage others to get smear tests, emphasising that they could save their lives.
Tributes poured in for the Big Brother icon this week on her anniversary, with fans remembering her as ‘courageous’ and ‘beautiful.’
