Comedian Trevor Noah recently addressed the ongoing Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson drama on his satirical news programme, The Daily Show.

The 38-year-old comedian compared the highly publicised celebrity fallout to ‘watching a car crash’.

In response, Kanye (in now-deleted Instagram posts) hurled a racial slur at Noah, aimed towards his South African heritage.

This interaction has left many wondering who Trevor Noah is, and how they can watch his show in the UK.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Who is Trevor Noah?

Trevor Noah is a comedian, political commentator, and author, originally from Johannesburg, South Africa.

He grew up in the Soweto township, and began his career on a South African soap, Isidingo, in 2002.

In 2011, he relocated to the United States, where became the first South African stand-up comedian to appear on The Tonight Show just a year later.

And in May 2013, Noah became the first to appear on Late Show with David Letterman.

He first joined The Daily Show as its Senior International Correspondent in 2014, back when it was still hosted by commentator Jon Stewart.

But when Stewart left the job after more than 15 years, in 2015, Noah stepped up to the top job.

He’s been hosting the show for seven years now.

Throughout the last few years, Noah has written and performed a number of stand-up specials: Lost In Translation (2015), Afraid Of The Dark (2017), and Son Of Patricia (2018).

He also released a best-selling autobiography, called Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, in 2016.

Where to watch The Daily Show in the UK

In the US, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah airs on Comedy Central.

And luckily, it airs on Comedy Central over here in the UK, too. You can get the channel on Sky TV, and watch along with the States, as new episodes air at 3.30am.

You can also stream the 30-minute episodes on the Sky Go app.

Alternatively, The Daily Show airs on NOWTV, which hosts a number of Sky and Comedy Central programmes.

The streaming service currently costs around £9.99 per month, though you can get a seven day free trial.

Currently, the show is in its 27th season, and NOWTV has a handful of the most recent episodes – including the episode where Noah addresses the Kim-Kanye-Pete situation (episode 71).

The Daily Show airs on Comedy Central, Monday to Thursday at 3.30am.
