Tim Campbell joined The Apprentice this series as Lord Alan Sugar’s new righthand man, but tonight he’ll miss an episode for the first time since taking on the role.

Tim was the first-ever Apprentice winner way back in 2005 and has since forged a successful career in business with Lord Sugar by his side.

In 2022, he replaced Claude Littner, who has been involved in the show since the very first series and an aide alongside Karren Brady since 2015.

While Claude recovers from an operation, Tim has been Lord Sugar’s eyes and ear as the contestants enjoy massive wins and make embarrassing mistakes.

However, tonight he will be replaced by Mike Soutar.

Why is Tim Campbell not on The Apprentice tonight?

When filming took place for tonight’s episode, Tim was isolating.

A source confirmed to RadioTimes: ‘Tim had been in close contact with someone who had tested positive for Covid, and although he remained negative, as per the guidance at the time of filming, Tim isolated.’

They confirmed that Mike Soutar stepped in as his replacement for the episode.

Media consultant and investor Mike has been an Apprentice regular since 2010.

He is usually seen grilling the candidates during the interview stage and scrutinising their business plans.

It will sure be interesting to see what he brings to the boardroom as Lord Sugar’s aide this week!

When will Tim Campbell be back on The Apprentice?

Mike was only confirmed to be replacing Tim for tonight’s episode.

Therefore, we should hope to see the former Apprentice champ back on our screens next week as the final nears.

It was recently revealed that Claude is also set to make a comeback, news which will excite viewers who’ve missed his hilarious facial expressions and witty humour.

The businessman is set to return in time for the interview round, where he’ll put the candidates in the hot seat.

‘Well, I’m back!’ Claude exclaimed. ‘But, just for the interview stage of the process. Obviously, there’s not a huge amount I can say without giving too much away but I just hope that when it airs next week [Thursday 17th March, 9pm], well I hope everyone thinks it was worth the wait.’

‘I had written off this series, but it would seem Lord Sugar and the production company had other ideas!’ he continued, thanking the team for facilitating his return.

‘I’ve had so many messages on social media too from viewers saying they hope I’m coming back for the interviews and how much they miss my smiling, but obviously I’ve not been able to say anything until now.’

The Apprentice airs Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One.
