The Strictly Come Dancing professionals opened Sunday night’s results show with a tear-jerking Remembrance Day routine.

The beautiful routine served as a tribute to British service members who died defending their country.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as the ballroom dancers performed to You’ll Never Walk Alone by Gerry and the Pacemaker.

The male dancers were dressed in army attire, while the females looked elegant in wartime-themed dresses, but viewers were particularly moved by Oti Mabuse and Katya Jones dancing together.

One user said: ‘The same-sex couple in this week’s group dance!!! God I love this show.’

Another agreed and said: ‘Katya and Oti dancing together OMG!’

Sunday night’s show also said goodbye to Sara Davies, who was the seventh celebrity to lose their place in the competition, after receiving no votes from judges Craig Revel HorwoodMotsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas.

The 37-year-old faced off against Tilly Ramsay in the dance-off, with Sara and her dance partner Aljaz Škorjanec performing their Argentine Tango once again on Sunday.

This weekend’s show was a combination of highs and lows, with Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu delivering a faultless performance, with judge Motsi branding it ‘the best Charleston we have seen’ on the current season.

Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice left everyone in the studio speechless with their couple’s choice, which resulted in Craig critiquing their dance with his usual but rare phrase: ‘fab-u-lous.’

However, for AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington, they found themselves in the bottom two after their Paso Doble was described as ‘disappointing.’

Following the performance, the 33-year-old revealed a mishap involving her yellow dress on the night as she was supported by famous friends and fans.

The remaining seven couples will be back on the dancefloor in next week’s musical special.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
