The Big Bang Theory’s Simon Helberg is about to reprise his role as Howard Wolowitz in an episode of Young Sheldon

Simon starred alongside the likes of Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, and Kunal Nayyar as one of the original cast members from the record-breaking sitcom until its end in 2019.

Now, two years after the sitcom came to a close, Simon is back as Howard to voice an upcoming inslatment of the Big Bang spin-off, in an episode called An Introduction to Engineering and a Glob of Hair Gel.

The moment comes young Sheldon (Iain Armitage) takes his first engineering class with professor Boucher (Lance Reddick) with the adult Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Howard bickering as if it was 2019 all over again.

‘We love being able to explore the origins of Sheldon Cooper every week on Young Sheldon,’ executive producer Steven Molaro enthused.

‘But it’s always extra fun when we’re able to incorporate Big Bang Theory Easter eggs into the storylines. Getting to work with Simon again to help explain Sheldon’s long hatred of engineering was a dream come true.

‘Jim and Simon, even in voiceover on Zoom, didn’t miss a beat in their banter as Sheldon Cooper and Howard Wolowitz.’

In a first look clip of the highly-anticipated moment, Howard clashes with Sheldon over the Nobel Prize he won in The Big Bang Theory finale.

Unsurprisingly, the accolade is never far from Sheldon’s lips and he wears it as a fashion accessory.

Simon’s return to the world of The Big Bang Theory airs on November 18 on CBS.

Young Sheldon airs on E4 in the UK and is now available to stream on Netflix UK.
