Megan McKenna has shared her thoughts on LBC presenter Steve Allen’s comments about Tilly Ramsay and wishes she had stood up to him when he said things about her.

Steve, 67, had faced backlash after calling Gordon Ramsay’s 19-year-old daughter a ‘chubby little thing’ after seeing her on Strictly Come Dancing, blaming it on her ‘dad’s cooking’.

The Towie star turned singer, 29, revealed that Steve had previously called her ‘ugly’ and she wished she had stood up to him at the time.

He’d said on his show on Global Radio’s LBC: ‘I mean she really is ugly. I mean this is the one who’s ugly and abuses the privilege.

‘You know when they say “lived in face”, in her case “squatters”… it’s all a bit fake.’

She told the Daily Mail: ‘I haven’t met Tilly, but I saw it and thought it was terrible. I know he had already spoken about me like that a couple of years ago but because things are more highlighted in this era, I just felt I wanted to show my support.

‘I know he said it about Gemma Collins and numerous people he’s been nasty about. People have said vile things about me, but I have never brought it to light.

‘I thought hold on a minute people need to know he’s said this about quite a few people including me and it’s not right.’

Megan had shared a recording from a 2016 show in which Steve had called her ‘ugly’ and said her knocking Taylor Swift off the number one spot on the charts wasn’t a big achievement.

She added: ‘I’m glad it has been brought to light because being a bully on a radio station should never be allowed.

‘I would love to say to him look at me now, I’m headlining my own tour and opening for some of the biggest music names in history. I just sat back and let it happen, but I have been bashed myself and it’s not very nice.’

Steve had received 840 Ofcom complaints after his comments about Tilly and it was later reported by the Daily Star that Steve sent her a private message with a ‘full apology’.

An industry insider allegedly told the outlet: ‘Tilly has been given a full apology by Steve. He wanted to make it clear that he is very sorry to have upset her.

‘It was sent privately because he didn’t want it to look like it was done for publicity.’
