Jane McDonald is set to return to her native Yorkshire to film an emotional and personal new TV series.
Best known for her cruising documentaries, the former Loose Women star will head back to her home county where she lived with her partner Eddie Rothe.
It is also the place where Eddie died earlier this year.
‘This is a deeply emotional journey for her, and not just because she was born and raised in Wakefield,’ a TV insider told The Sun’s TV Biz column.
‘It’s also the city where she met her fiance, musician Eddie Rothe, and the place where he died earlier this year after battling lung cancer.’
‘So there are some incredible memories for Jane in Yorkshire, both sad and joyous, which are the backdrop for this very personal show.’
The TV icon last paid tribute to her financé on social media shortly after his death.
‘It is with immense sadness that we share the news that Jane’s beloved long term partner, Ed, passed away on Friday 26th March,’ read a tweet from her account.
‘He had been battling lung cancer for the last few months.’
The statement also went on to praise NHS staff for their work and support throughout Eddie’s ordeal.
‘We would like to thank everyone for all their help and support during this very difficult time, especially the NHS staff and the wonderful team at The Wakefield Hospice.’
Her upcoming TV show will be the first time Jane addresses the death of her partner personally and on screen.
Jane first shot to fame in the BBC reality docusoap The Cruise back in 1998, and in recent years has starred in a number of travel documentaries for Channel 5.
Prior to meeting The Searchers’ Eddie in 2008, Jane was married to her manager Henrik Brixen, but they called it quits in 2003.
