Whatsapp will not support a few Android phones from November 1. Due to which, those users will lose all the chat and contacts if they don’t back up their chat history before the update. Whatsapp has suggested its users using older Android versions to switch to the supported versions at their earliest. The company; however, is supporting all other devices running Android 4.1 and above, along with iOS and KaiOS.

Version 4.0.4 and below will no longer be supported by the messaging application, starting from Monday, declared Whatsapp.

This is how you can check whether or not your phone is supported by Whatsapp.

All Android users are advised to visit ‘Settings’, and then go to ‘About Phone’. Now scroll down to see which Android version your phone is running on. In case, it shows its Version 4.0.4 or less, it’s about time you save and export your chat history and switch to a phone with functioning Whatsapp.

Backup your chat by going to ‘Settings’, then ‘Chats’; now go to ‘Chat Backup’ and back up your entire chat data.
