Jesy Nelson revealed this week that she and the rest of Little Mix no longer speak following a row over ‘blackfishing’.

Rumours of a rift between her and the band started at the same time as her solo career, with DMs claiming to be from Leigh-Anne Pinnock were leaked asking a social media star to do a video about Jesy ‘blackfishing’ in her video for Boyz.

Things escalated when Jesy and Nicki Minaj hopped on a livestream together, where Nicki slammed Leigh-Anne as Jesy laughed along.

Jesy revealed in a teaser for Friday’s Graham Norton Show: ‘We’re not talking any more. It is sad but honestly there is no bad blood from my side, and I still love them to pieces and genuinely wish them all the best.

‘I loved my time with them, and we’ve got the most incredible memories together but It’s just one of those things which needs to take time, so who knows.’

Here is a timeline of Jesy and Little Mix’s feud so far.

July 2020 – Post-lockdown reunion

After spending several months apart due to the coronavirus pandemic, the girls were spotted looking downcast when they reunited for rehearsals.

Jesy was seen sitting separately from the rest of the band outside the rehearsal studio as they waited for their separate cars to pick them up to go home.

September 2020 – Little Mix: The Search

During filming for The Search, Jesy ended up missing a few of the live shows which was attributed to sickness.

Jade Thirlwall also admitted she had walked off a couple of times herself, telling New magazine: ‘Maybe I went off in a huff a couple of times.

‘It’s inevitable that we’re not always going to agree about certain people, but we all respect each other’s opinion.’

December 2020 – Jesy quits the band

Jesy broke the news that she was leaving Little Mix after nine years in the band in December 2020, which reportedly came as a surprise to the rest of the band.

Although they released a statement in support of her, claims later surfaced that Jesy hadn’t broken the news to them in person, with Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie Edwards finding out through her lawyers instead.

May 2021 – Jesy doesn’t publicly post for Perrie and Leigh-Anne’s pregnancies

When Leigh-Anne and Perrie announced they were both pregnant at the same time, fans were quick to notice that Jesy did not speak out publicly to congratulate them.

It’s not known whether she reached out privately, but the silence on social media led fans to wonder whether everything was OK between Jesy and the band.

August 2021 – Jesy says she’s not been in contact with the band

In an interview with The Guardian in August, Jesy revealed that she and her former bandmates had not spoken with each other, but claimed there was no ill feeling between them.

She said when asked if she was still in touch with the girls: ‘No, not as much. Not now. I think we all need time. It’s a big thing that’s happened. I still love them to pieces. They were like my sisters.’

October 2021 – Jesy releases debut single Boyz and ‘blackfishing’ row ensues

Jesy kicked off her solo career with her first single Boyz, featuring Nicki Minaj and an appearance from P Diddy.

After the video was unveiled, Instagram user No Hun leaked DMs claiming to be from Leigh-Anne in which she asked him to talk about Jesy ‘blackfishing’ rather than make a video dancing to the song.

Following the leaked DMs, Jesy hopped on a livestream with Nicki in which Nicki slammed Leigh-Anne for being ‘jealous’ that Jesy had gone solo, while Jesy laughed along.

Jesy later revealed that she and the rest of the band don’t talk any more but wished them well.
