The final season of Black-ish is going to feature one of the most exciting guest cameos yet thanks to the appearance of former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Yep, the hit series has managed to bag Michelle for an exciting guest star role in the upcoming final season and we cannot wait to see what goes down.
The news was first announced on the social media pages for the hit sitcom as a picture of Michelle and the cast was shared online.
‘blackish is going all out for the final season! We are honored to have trailblazer @MichelleObama join us as an upcoming guest star,’ a caption read.
The 57-year-old revealed her excitement for the episode as she wrote: ‘I’ve long been a fan of @BlackishABC’s wit and all-around brilliance, and it was such a thrill to join in for an episode. I can’t wait for you all to see it! [Red heart emoji]’.
Details are being kept under wraps for now, but we do know that Michelle will play herself in the episode.
Michelle is no stranger to making appearances in a comedy series after she made a cameo in the season six finale of Parks and Recreation.
The Kenya Barris show will see the likes of Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Laurence Fishburne return as their beloved characters for the final season.
A statement released on the show’s official Twitter page revealed the show was coming to an end in May.
‘We are humbled to have been the home of “black-ish,” a show that has given voice to the Black experience through humor and heart,’ it read. ‘We look forward to celebrating the series and its cultural impact with the upcoming season 7 finale, and its eighth and final season.’
black-ish airs on ABC in the US, and is available to stream on Disney+ in the UK.
