Canon is currently in legal trouble as it is entangled in a lawsuit filed by a customer for its non-functional all-in-one printer. A customer recently took a legal action against Canon after his all-in-one (printer, scanner and photocopier) stopped functioning as soon as the ink cartridge started running out of ink.

The customer named David Leacraft took a legal route and forced the electronics manufacturer into courts, complaining that his printer stops performing its tasks at low ink. The lawsuit was filed on the basis of false advertising and breach of warranty.

“Plaintiff Leacraft would not have purchased the device or would not have paid as much for it had he known that he would have to maintain ink in the device in order to scan documents,” says the complaint.

Leacraft claims he has faced this issue numerous times using Pixma MG2522 all-in-one printer from Canon. He further says, that the company is selling its printers making false promises to generate larger revenue, referring to it as “unjust enrichment”.
