ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Sunday said there was no threat to the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government from the lame opposition and it would complete its constitutional term.
“The government enjoys ideal relations with all the state institutions,” he said talking to people in Multan.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi asked the opposition parties to be patient as their desire to dislodge the government cannot be fulfilled.
Commenting on the economic situation, he said the inflation was a big challenge for the government. However, the government was trying its best to minimise the burden on the masses, he added.
The foreign minister said that Coronavirus affected the international economy as a whole and that was why the rise in oil prices in the world market forced the government to increase the prices of petroleum products within the country.
About Afghanistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan wanted peace and stability in the neighbouring country as it was imperative for regional peace.
He reiterated that Pakistan would continue its reconciliatory efforts for establishment of peace in the region. “Some forces wish to destabilise Afghanistan, but they should not be let to succeed,” he said.
The foreign minister said establishing peace in Afghanistan was also essential for development and prosperity of the region.
