Kim Kardashian is still using her marital surname, despite filing for divorce from Kanye West.

The 40-year-old introduced herself as ‘Kim Kardashian West’ in teasers for her Saturday Night Live hosting gig this weekend.

In the first teaser for the show, Kim stands in between musical guest Halsey and SNL cast member Cecily Strong in the iconic studio, and says: ‘Hi, I’m Kim Kardashian West, and I’m hosting SNL this week with Halsey.’

Cecily says: ‘Oh my gosh, this crazy thought just occurred to me in this exact moment right now – should we start our own girl group?’, with Halsey firing back: ‘Absolutely not.’

Kim says: ‘We already said no when you pushed that backstage’, with the comic replying: ‘OK, so you could hear me, I wasn’t sure because security had me in a headlock.’

In the second promo, Kim used her marital surname again, before the trio poked fun at Kim’s lack of comedy credentials.

Cecily asked: ‘But Kim, are you nervous about doing sketch comedy?’, with the reality star replying: ‘Why, I don’t have to write sketches, do I? Memorise lines? Everyone else won’t look as good as me, will they?’

As Cecily and Halsey replied ‘no’ to every question, Kim giggled: ‘This is so easy.’

Kim filed for divorce from husband Kanye, 44, in February, but the estranged couple remain close, with Kim supporting the rapper at his Donda listening parties and even appearing in one of the shows, wearing a wedding dress.

Kanye is believed to be helping out his ex-wife ahead of her SNL appearance, with a source telling Page Six: ‘Kim is nervous about hosting SNL, it’s a big challenge but she is determined to be a success.

‘Kanye is quietly advising her on her performance, her opening monologue, even her costumes for the show.’

Kim will be the first Kardashian to host SNL and the announcement has not been without controversy.

Will & Grace star Debra Messing was among those questioning her credibility, tweeting: ‘Why Kim Kardashian? I mean, I know she is a cultural icon, but SNL has hosts, generally, who are performers who are there to promote a film, TV show, or album launch. Am I missing something?’

However, fans argued that Debra was indeed missing something, considering Kim’s unfathomable fame, her make-up empire and her upcoming Hulu reality show.

Still, Kim’s booking is less controversial than that of Elon Musk, after the Tesla mogul hosted SNL earlier this year.

Saturday Night Live airs on NBC this Saturday night.
