Hairy Bikers chef Si King has revealed that his co-star Dave Myers is battling Covid.

The television presenter went solo as he joined Rylan Clark-Neil and Ronan Keating on The One Show on Thursday night, explaining that Dave is currently unwell with the disease.

‘He has Covid,’ Si explained, before going on to say: ‘He’s getting there. I think he’s not too well, but it’s not bad.’

‘Well, we’re sending him all the love,’ Rylan said.

‘It’s very odd to be here without him,’ Si admitted.

Viewers were also quick to send Dave their well-wishes, with one writing: ‘Hope Dave feels much better soon. Nice to see Si on #TheOneShow – absolutely glowing with health.’

‘Sending best wishes to Dave Myers of the @HairyBikers who currently is suffering from Covid,’ another penned. ‘Hoping & praying for a quick recovery. Keep strong Dave.’

Both Hairy Bikers Si and Dave were due to appear on The One Show tonight to talk about their new series The Hairy Bikers Go North and their new book Everyday Winners.

The Hairy Bikers Go North is a new eight-part show which sees the chefs explore Cumbria, Yorkshire and Lancashire.

‘We decided to do it before the Covid breakout,’ Si explained of the upcoming programme, as he appeared on his own.

‘We wanted to do this love letter to the north, basically.’

Ronan noted that the series sees both Si and Dave delve into their personal lives a lot more this time around.

‘We just wanted to open up a little bit and just have the crack,’ Si responded.

‘It was a lovely show to do with people we all know and love and the food that we grew up with. It was wonderful.’

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
