Good Morning Britain was hit with technical issues on Thursday morning with viewers being shown the wrong local news updates.
Presenters Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway noted the ongoing mishap on the ITV daytime programme and apologised for the errors as complaints appeared online.
‘Lots of you getting in touch because unfortunately for some reason, the local news that you were just enjoying perhaps might have been from a different region to where you’re waking up this morning,’ Ben noted.
‘Apologies for that.’
He continued: ‘We’ll try and sort that out to make sure you get the correct news for your region.’
Kate blamed the wires getting mixed up, adding: ‘They need to be better colour coded!’
A number of viewers took to social media to report the technical issues, with many Londoners saying they were getting updates from the Midlands.
‘Why am I getting central news in London?’ asked one.
‘Nooooo, it’s all gone t!ts up with @GMB,’ added another. ‘I’m in London and getting news and weather for the Midlands.’
A third said: ‘I don’t live in the Midlands yet I’m getting the news for the Midlands. Can I have the London news please?’
Live television has been all over the shop in recent days, with Channel 4 experiencing ongoing disruption after going off-air on Saturday due to a technical problem.
Channel 5 also faced technical issues and went off the air on Saturday too.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
