Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly locking horns over their French vineyard amid their ongoing divorce battle.
The former couple are at loggerheads over their $164million (£119m) vineyard, Château Mirava, which they both own.
According to reports, Brad, 57, has filed a lawsuit accusing ex-wife Angelina, 46, of trying to cut him out of a potential sale.
Court documents obtained by Hollywood Life reveal Brad’s claims that Angelina attempted to sell her shares for profit, without consulting him first, and that it would have resulted in a considerable profit for the actress.
The suit accuses Angelina’s company Nouvel of not acting in the ‘best interest’ of the company, Quimicum, that owns the vineyard located in Correns, France.
The documents read: ‘It is worth mentioning that, for the last four years, Nouvel did not act in the best interest of Quimicum by systematically delaying the approval of the annual accounts and the renewal of the manager.’
A source close to the litigation told the publication that Angelina’s actions were her ‘trying to circumvent the rules’.
They claimed: ‘This is pretty consistent with this person’s behaviour and is why she has been deemed “not credible” based on the testimony of numerous experts, medical professionals, therapists, and others who know her best in the recent ruling of the custodial case.’
It’s claimed Angelina had allegedly tried to sell her stake without giving her former spouse the option of buying her out or the opportunity to refuse the sale.
Sources claimed to Page Six that Brad and Angelina formerly agreed to consult the other and ask permission if they ever wanted to sell their stake in the vineyard.
Brad filed his suit against Angelina in Luxembourg on 21 September – two months after it was reported the Maleficent actress had attempted to sell her share in the winery in July.
At the time, Angelina had filed a petition in LA calling for the judge to remove a temporary restraining order on the couple’s assets, which has been in place since their divorce proceedings started in 2016, for fear of losing an interested buyer.
An emergency request was rejected in June with the filing stating Angelina had failed to show ‘immediate danger/irreparable harm or immediate loss/damage to property’.
Documents stated that Angelina did not want to be Brad’s ‘unwilling and disregarded business partner’ but wasn’t not able to force him to buy her out after failing to reach an agreement after ‘lengthy negotiations’.
Angelina’s legal team revealed that she had found a third-party buyer and wanted the restriction lifted so the sale could go ahead.
Her complicated divorce from Brad has been ongoing for the last five years.
While the pair have been legally declared single as of 2019, they are still yet to finalise a custody arrangement for their six children.
The couple are parents to Maddox, 20, Zahara, 16, Pax, 17, Shiloh, 15, and 13-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
Brad and Angelina currently have joint custody – a decision Angelina is trying to have overturned.
The Oscar winner filed for divorce from Hollywood actor Brad in 2016 after over a decade together and two years after they tied the knot in 2014.
Angelina spoke for the first time about her split from Brad in an interview with Vogue India that was published in June 2020 and insisted it was the ‘right decision’.
She revealed she made the decision to separate from Brad for the ‘wellbeing of her family’.
‘I continue to focus on their healing. Some have taken advantage of my silence, and the children see lies about themselves in the media, but I remind them that they know their own truth and their own minds,’ Angelina said.
‘In fact, they are six very brave, very strong young people.’
