The release date is not for another week but you can start playing a trial version of FIFA 22 via EA Play or the Ultimate Edition today.
The release of this year’s new FIFA video game is almost upon us and so far there’s been no sign of demo, which is disappointing. But there is a way to play FIFA 22 early if you’re willing to pay a little extra.
There’s a couple of different way to get early access to FIFA 22 this week, the most obvious being by signing up for EA Play, which lets you play a 10-hour trial of the full game.
EA Play is free with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or otherwise is £3.99 for a month’s membership or £19.99 for a year. It’s a generally worthwhile service, that also gives you access to a number of free EA games and monthly rewards for FIFA Ultimate Team.
What time does the FIFA 22 10 hour trial come out?
The free EA Play trial starts from Wednesday 22nd at 6pm BST but alternatively you can get the game four days early if you buy the Ultimate Edition of the game, which is £89.99 – £30 more expensive than the standard edition.
The Ultimate Edition also includes other extras, such as 4,600 FIFA Points, a Kylian Mbappé loan Item, and FUT Ones to Watch item, but clearly it’s a lot to pay for if all you’re interested in is a four days head start.
When is the FIFA 22 demo out?
Despite everyone expecting a demo to be announced this month EA hasn’t said anything about it, with previous rumours pointing to a date of September 15 – which clearly hasn’t happened.
Given the game is out so soon, and the 10-day trial is this week, that almost certainly means there’s not going to be a pre-release demo.
It doesn’t necessarily mean there won’t be one at all though, as sometimes they are released after launch, especially as the delay for this year’s is probably just due to the pandemic.
FIFA 22 will be released on October 1 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Stadia.
