The 73rd annual Emmy Awards are right around the corner and guests will finally be able to attend the event again this year.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, the 2020 edition of the awards ceremony were held virtually. Now, celebs who have been nominated will be able to gather at the venue for 2021.

Shows like The Crown, Ted Lasso, The Handmaid’s Tale, and I May Destroy You will be battling out for an award, along with actors including Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Douglas, Kaley Cuoco, and Michaela Coel.

Set to be hosted by comedian and The Neighborhood star Cedric the Entertainer, viewers are in for a treat.

When are the Emmy Awards 2021?

The Emmy Awards are being held on Sunday, September 19, 2021.

It will kick off at 5pm in LA, which means that due to the time difference it starts at 1am in the UK.

The Emmys tend to run for about three hours. However, there is also often red carpet coverage prior to the awards, themselves.

Where are the 2021 Emmy Awards taking place?

The Emmy Awards will be coming to you live from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, America.

The Microsoft Theatre has hosted the awards ceremony since 2008.

Socially distanced audience seating means that only around 500 guests will attend Sunday’s ceremony compared to several thousand in previous years.

Attendees will follow strict Covid-19 protocols throughout the ceremony, including testing all participants, requiring vaccinations, and ensuring that everyone is wearing a mask when they are not on camera.

How can you watch the 73rd Emmy Awards in the UK?

You can watch the coverage the night after the Emmy Awards, on Monday, September 20, 2021.

Sky will be airing the event for two hours on Sky Max from 10.50pm to 12.50am UK time.
