{"id":9741,"date":"2022-05-22T17:03:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-22T12:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mirchmasala.tv\/?p=9741"},"modified":"2022-05-25T17:05:22","modified_gmt":"2022-05-25T12:05:22","slug":"young-artists-make-uaes-national-bird-soar-high-at-a-specialised-workshop-at-13th-sharjah-childrens-reading-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mirchmasala.tv\/2022\/05\/22\/young-artists-make-uaes-national-bird-soar-high-at-a-specialised-workshop-at-13th-sharjah-childrens-reading-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Young artists make UAE\u2019s national bird soar high at a specialised workshop at 13th Sharjah Children\u2019s Reading Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Young artists gained invaluable lessons in quality craftsmanship at the 13<sup>th<\/sup> Sharjah Children\u2019s Reading Festival (SCRF) at the <em>Falcon Puppet<\/em> workshop where they learnt the art of making intricate paper falcons with movable wings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants made their own versions of the UAE\u2019s national bird and its wings, crafted separately, were fixed with a split pin to allow free movement of each joint around a pivot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt looks like a real falcon in flight!\u201d exclaimed seven-year-old Baha Skaik, who was most fascinated on seeing his creative efforts come to life after 40 minutes of hard work. \u201cIt was interesting to see how a paper cutting slowly began to take the shape of a big bird gearing up to fly,\u201d said the grade two student at Westminster School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Baha\u2019s friend Abdullah Qusay, it was the scope for creativity in making his falcon look good that mattered more. \u201cI enjoyed colouring my falcon and giving it the final shape,\u201d said the eight-year-old Apple International School student while applying the final coats of colour on the wings of his falcon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Noor Pasl, 11, said she enjoyed the overall experience of making the falcon, right from colouring to crafting its wings. \u201cIt needed my full concentration, and in the end, I loved to see the falcon able to move its wings.
