The Undertaker and Vince McMahon shared a powerful moment together as the WWE legend took his place in the Hall of Fame.
The bond between the two men is no secret, and it was on full display on Friday night as the company kicked off WrestleMania Weekend in true style.
After a fantastic induction speech from McMahon himself, the Dead Man made his way down the ramp and into the ring where they embraced.
In a moment picked up by the Phenom’s mic, he told his boss ‘I love you’ in a tender and very real instance which set the tone for the next hour.
It took 10 minutes for Undertaker to even get a word out, with the fans at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on their feet from the moment his music hit.
Chants of ‘Thank you Taker’, ‘You deserve it’ and more rang out with each one leading into rapturous applause with the crowd desperate to honour one of wrestling’s biggest legends.
Although the superstars seated on the stage weren’t always shown on camera, Metro.co.uk had a prime spot in the crowd and noticed the likes of Randy Orton getting more animated with every ovation, and he was clearly enjoying every moment.
Undertaker was clearly moved as he appeared on several occasions to be wiping tears from his eyes.
Once he finally managed to speak, he took everyone on a journey through his life in a speech focused on what he described as his three trademark mental moves.
Each of the three was connected to different phases of his life and career, with ‘Taker revealing his lessons as: ‘Perception is reality’, ‘respect and loyalty go a long way’, and to ‘never be content’.
At the end of his speech, the former world champion had one last surprise for the fans as he donned his trademark hat and coat again, with fans immediately chanting for ‘one more match’.
With a look to the camera, he simply said: ‘Never say never.’
It was enough to draw huge cheers from fans in attendance, before he made one more walk up the ramp to stand on stage with his peers and threw one fist in the air.
