Miley Cyrus has shared on Instagram that her next concert will be dedicated to Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, following his death aged 50.

The drummer’s death was announced on social media by the rock band, who have been left ‘devastated’ after he was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Bogota, Colombia, where the band was due to perform.

Taking to her Instagram story with a touching tribute, Miley shared a black and white picture of a smiling Hawkins.

‘This is how I’ll always remember you…’ she wrote.

On a second story she added a link to Pretenders’ hit Brass in Pocket, sharing an emotional memory.

‘My favourite memory with Taylor is dancing around his drum kit while he played along to this song.

‘Playing it on repeat imagining us laughing….

‘Love forever.’

Miley recently worked with Hawkins to lay down the drum beat for her Billy Idol collaboration Night Crawling from her 2021 rock crossover record Plastic Hearts.

The American singer and the Foo Fighters were also both headliners at the recent Lollapalooza Chile festival, playing on March 19 and 18, respectively.

Hawkins had been found dead in his hotel room and his cause of death is currently unknown.

Hawkins had joined the Foo Fighters in 1997 after touring with Alanis Morissette, and had phoned frontman Dave Grohl when previous member William Goldsmith, left the band.

He joined as the Foo Fighters were completing their second album, The Colour and the Shape, which includes their iconic track Everlong, and remained a member for 25 years until his death, alongside Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee.

Pictures on social media showed fans gathering outside his hotel and in front of the stage at the festival, lighting candles in honour of the musician.

He and the Foo Fighters were due to play at the Grammys on April 3 before beginning a tour of North America in May.

Hawkins is survived by his wife Alison, who he had been married to since 2005, and their three children.
