Former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan has marked his father’s one year anniversary with a heartbreaking tribute.

The 43-year-old ballroom dancer lost his father, Allan, to cancer in March 2021, less than a year after he had been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

Since then, a devastated James has repeatedly used his platform to keep his father’s memory alive, and last year shaved his head on live TV to raise money for a brain cancer charity.

The former Strictly star and 2019 Dancing On Ice winner often speaks about missing his father, and on Sunday marked one year since his death with a heartfelt and honest post on Twitter.

Taking to the site, James shared a sweet photograph of his dad with James’ daughter Ella as a baby, and wrote: ‘Today it’s been 1 year since we lost my hero & dad – Allan Jordan.’

‘The hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with in life so far & I still have bad days as many of you I’m sure can relate to,’ the professional dancer wrote.

‘I think about him all the time and will miss him till the day I die.’

He finished by writing simply: ‘I love you dad.’

James’ post was met with an outpouring of grief and love from hundreds of others who had sadly lost a parent, some sharing their own stories and all wishing him well on what is an exceptionally painful day.

Allan, who died at the age of 67, was initially misdiagnosed with a stroke after suffering seizures.

James revealed in March 2021 that his dad had died, writing: ‘My dad became an angel at 8:05am. I will forever miss him. He will always be my hero. RIP Daddy.’

The news came just one day after James revealed that his father was close to death.

The dancer had tweeted at the time: ‘No one should have to go through what my family are watching my dad go through.

‘I pray to God that you come through soon and make him one of your angels.’
