Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock’s divorce has been finalised at last, with the Stronger hitmaker getting primary custody of their children – but she’ll have to pay out a lot.

The LA Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon signed off on Kelly having primary custody of the pair’s two children, River, seven, and Remington, five, and Brandon, who lives in Montana, will have the kids for one weekend a month, according to TMZ.

The site reports that, while Brandon challenged the pre-nuptial agreement, the judge affirmed its validity, with Kelly keeping her income of around $20million (£15million) per year.

However, Kelly, 39, will still have to pay out. Brandon, 45, will receive $115,000 (£87,000) per month in spousal support until January 2024.

He will also receive $46,000 (£35,000) per month in child support, and Kelly will pay him a sum of $1.3million (£990,000) as part of the settlement.

Meanwhile, Brandon is permitted to stay in Kelly’s Montana ranch until June 1, but he will have to pay her  $12,500 (£9,150) a month in rent.

If Brandon moves out of Montana, the custody agreement will be reevaluated.

Kelly and Brandon were married for seven years when the singer filed for divorce in 2020.

The separation has proved bitter to say the least, with court battles over property, child support and spousal support just some of the issues that faced the warring couple.

Kelly also recently filed to legally drop her last name, choosing to just go by her first and middle names, Kelly Brianne.

The Breakaway singer legally took Brandon’s last name when they were married in 2013, but still used Clarkson professionally for her career in music.

According to TMZ, Kelly filed court documents to be known as Kelly Brianne, stating it is ‘more fitting of who she is now’.

However, she will continue to use Clarkson professionally.
