Holly Willoughby ‘nearly threw up’ after Connor Ball sliced his leg open during Dancing On Ice.

The Vamps star, 25, lost his balance on the rink during a risky move which involved lifting his partner Alexandra Schauman with a mop, leading to him falling and cutting his leg.

He shared his gruesome injuries on social media, and it wasn’t just fans who were made woozy at the sight of all the blood.

Co-host Philip Schofield revealed Holly’s reaction to Connor’s injury (which needed 19 stitches!) on yesterday’s episode.

Introducing Connor and Alexandra, Phil said: ‘He’s been tripped up, stitched up, he’s next up, last week when Holly saw his injury she nearly threw up!

‘Holly and I made the mistake of looking over the balcony and you were being stitched up.’

The Can We Dance singer replied: ‘Oh, it’s horrible. Can’t forget that,’ with Phillip agreeing the injury was ‘gruesome.’

Connor added: ‘I don’t really remember any of the judges’ comments because the whole thing was a blur.’

Despite the nasty fall, the pair received 34/40 for their skate to George Ezra’s Paradise, with Ashley Banjo praising their performance: ‘Anyone who wonders if Dancing On Ice is dangerous, there you go. It was such a good performance.

‘This score would have been so much higher but you couldn’t quite hold on to it. Well done.’

Connor added that his 19 stitches may have been a record-breaker on the ITV competition, and determinedly said: ‘We’re going to come back fighting.’

And it seems they did, as the pair’s comedy routine scored an impressive 35/40, with judge Christopher Dean saying: ‘Comedy on ice is one of the hardest things to pull off and I think you really achieved that tonight.’

While Connor will be skating into the semi-finals next week, Paralympian Stef Reid was the latest celebrity to be eliminated with partner Andy Buchanan.

All four judges picked Kye Whyte and Tippy Packard in an intensely-close skate-off.

Speaking to Holly and Phil after the judges’ verdict, Stef said: ‘I have absolutely loved every moment. It is just not something that I ever thought I would be able to do.’

Turning to her professional partner Andy Buchanan, she added: ‘Just learning to skate and getting to learn about performance and dance. I can’t thank you enough.’

Dancing on Ice returns on Sunday at 6.30pm on ITV.
