Ryan Reynolds revealed that the action movie Red Notice broke Netflix’s record as the most viewed on the day of its release.

The latest blockbuster, which also stars Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot, was released on the streaming platform on November 12.

With a stellar cast such as this, can’t say we’re surprised.

The comedy follows an Interpol agent who attempts to hunt down and capture the world’s most wanted art thief.

In an Instagram post, the funnyman wrote: ‘WOW #RedNotice is @Netflix biggest ever opening day for a film. Congrats to this whole team!’

In true Ryan style, he also made a reference to singer Taylor Swift’s re-recorded album Red.

‘Can’t wait for Red Notice (Taylor’s version),’ he joked.

The 49-year-old Jumanji star also took time out of his grueling workout to address the news via Instagram.

Dwayne captioned the post saying: ‘It’s OFFICIAL as the numbers are coming in from 190 territories around the world. RED NOTICE has become THE BIGGEST OPENING EVER ~ for ANY MOVIE IN THE HISTORY OF NETFLIX!. 92% AUDIENCE SCORE’

Just like her co-stars, Gal also celebrated the news on social media. The Wonder Woman actress said: ‘This is amazing!!!

‘What can I say, you guys are the best and the reason why we make these films. So grateful and excited.’

The film sees two art thieves, smooth-talking Nolan Booth (Reynolds) and The Bishop (Gadot), competing to steal three golden eggs which are rumoured to have belonged to Cleopatra. FBI Agent John Hartley (Johnson) is tasked with capturing Bishop.

The true story follows someone who was once the biggest foreign money manager in Moscow, who ended up the target of several Russian arrest attempts following his anti-corruption crusade, which was sparked by the murder of his lawyer Sergei Magnitsky.

Red Notice: A True Story of High Finance, Murder, and One Man’s Fight for Justice was written by Bill Browder in 2015.

Red Notice is available to watch on Netflix.
