Britney Spears has been freed from her conservatorship after almost 14 years, and everyone has been celebrating.

The massive campaign drew support from around the world, and celebrities and friends of Britney, including Paris Hilton, Cher and Jedward have been reacting joyously to the news.

Britney celebrated shortly after the decision, sharing a video of fans outside the courthouse cheering and setting off confetti cannons.

She wrote: ‘Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy!!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day!!!!

‘Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen???? #FreedBritney.’

Another video saw the duo singing an altered version of Britney’s track Scream And Shout, where they chanted ‘I wanna scream and shout/ Free Britney now!’

‘So happy for you @BritneySpears !!!!!!!’

Donatella Versace, who is currently designing Britney’s wedding dress, posted a gorgeous snap of the pair and wrote: ‘Freedom is a human right. My heart is smiling for you, Britney.

‘Congratulations on your regained and deserved emancipation. I love you, your fierce fans love you and the world NEEDS your brilliance.’

She added: ‘Happy Britneypendence day!’

The historic decision from Judge Brenda Penny comes after the iconic singer has spent the past few years fighting to change the court-appointed conservatorship, which was put in place in 2008 following her mental health breakdown.

For the past 13 years, the singer’s father Jamie had managed Britney’s wellbeing and financial affairs along with a bank, but demands to change that peaked after the mother-of-two recently told a court that the conservatorship is ‘abusive’.

Britney’s damning testimony left the world speechless as she alleged that she was blocked from having another child by being made to keep an IUD in her body, and was not even allowed to be driven in a car by her fiancé Sam Asghari.

Judge Penny’s ruling on Friday means the pop superstar can start to regain control of her personal life and finances as official measures are taken to end the complex legal arrangement she has been under since she was 27.
