Lady Gaga has revealed she and co-star Jared Leto were the brains behind one of the most memorable moments from House of Gucci and we’re obsessed.
The Bad Romance hitmaker, who first turned her hand to acting in Oscar-nominated A Star is Born, plays Patrizia Reggiani in the highly-anticipated movie.
In the trailer, she’s seen saying: ‘Father, son, and House of Gucci’ like a prayer.
‘That was something Jared and I came up with together,’ she explained, adding that it was improvised and not originally part of the script.
‘Father, son and house of Gucci? Well, it was the first time, and then we kept it,’ the star added to ET, with Jared recalling: ‘It was not in the script.’
‘These things came to us, I think they came from a real place of spontaneity on set, where you can do as much work as possible before, and then when you get there, you just throw it out, and you just talk to each other,’ Gaga pointed out.
House of Gucci, which also stars Adam Driver, is based on the true story of the 1995 murder of Maurizio Gucci, the head of the fashion house Gucci.
Gaga clearly threw herself into the role, with the star previously admitting that she had trouble snapping out of it.
She told Vogue: ‘I had some psychological difficulty at one point towards the end of filming. I was either in my hotel room, living and speaking as Reggiani, or I was on set, living and speaking as her.
‘I remember I went out into Italy one day with a hat on to take a walk. I hadn’t taken a walk in about two months and I panicked. I thought I was on a movie set.’
Gaga explained: ‘It is three years since I started working on it and I will be fully honest and transparent: I lived as her (Reggiani) for a year and a half.
‘And I spoke with an accent for nine months of that. Off camera, I never broke. I stayed with her. It was nearly impossible for me to speak in the accent as a blonde.
‘I instantly had to dye my hair, and I started to live in a way whereby anything that I looked at, anything that I touched, I started to take notice of where and when I could see money.’
Meanwhile, the singer recently caused a stir at the film’s premiere, posing alongside Adam and Jared in a spectacular purple gown.
Not long now…
House of Gucci is released on November 26.
