ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Monday said Pakistan had fared better than the rest of the world during Covid-19 because of its successful policies.

“Pakistan’s industry has revived and construction sector is also fully operational. The agricultural economy is prosperous while exports in the IT sector have tripled,” Chaudhry Fawad said in a tweet.

Expressing confidence that the global prices would also normalise in another six to eight months, he said the income of workers, farmers and industry had increased.

Requesting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf activists to play their role in “telling the truth” to the masses, the information minister said it was the job of political opponents to spread lies.

“Pakistan is not on a separate planet [that it would not be affected of inflation],” he wrote in response to the opposition parties blaming the government for the inflation.

A day earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had also said that Pakistan had comparatively managed “much better” than other countries amidst unprecedented price hike of commodities caused by the Covid-19 lockdown.

“An unprecedented rise in commodity prices internationally had adversely affected most of the countries in the world as a result of the Covid lockdowns,” PM Imran Khan had tweeted.
