Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice had us all grabbing for the tissues as he praised dance partner Rose Ayling-Ellis in a touching speech.

The pair have impressed viewers and judges alike with their incredible routines on the dance floor, and made Strictly history with the earliest perfect score.

After safely making it through to next week, the professional dancer couldn’t help but rave about the EastEnders actress in tonight’s results show.

‘She’s definitely the best thing that [has] happened,’ the 31-year-old told Claudia Winkleman. ‘I might be the dance teacher but this year I’m learning myself new things.

‘This thing is not just about dancing, we spend so much time together. And I’m the one who is privileged to be dancing with you. So, thank you very much.’

Anyone need a moment after that? Because honestly, same.

Fans couldn’t get enough of the scenes and flocked to Twitter to cheer the duo on.

‘Rose and Giovanni really are a joy to watch. Wonderful people learning and enriching each other’s lives. #Strictly,’ one posted.

A follower agreed: ’Rose n Giovanni, I’m not crying, you are #Strictly [sic].’

‘What a beautiful speech from @pernicegiovann1 about being paired with @RoseAylingEllis you two are absolutely fantastic!! #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing @bbcstrictly,’ a Twitter user posted.

‘Tearing up at Gio tearing up over how much his bond with Rose means to him,’ a fan said. ‘I love watching them together #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing.’

As another added: ‘Such beautiful words from @pernicegiovann1 about @RoseAylingEllis tonight. I adore their partnership #Strictly.’

Rose is the show’s first ever deaf contestant, with sign language incorporated into some of her performances with Giovanni.

Chatting to Metro.co.uk about spreading awareness for the community, she told us: ‘It’s amazing, when I was a child, I never grew up seeing anyone like me on telly.

‘It could be a really isolating place for a deaf person, so I feel like if being on Strictly can change somebody’s life, it can happen – because there are some parents out there with a deaf child and they’re like, “Oh, what do I do?”

‘Then they see me on the telly and think, “Oh it’s not that bad, they can actually do what a hearing child can do.”

‘That’s why I feel really good doing that.’

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
