Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas has updated fans after she underwent tests this week after being alerted to a large lump under her arm by viewers.
Shirley, 61, revealed last month she would be going to the hospital for tests after fans made her aware of a lump under her arm.
Concerned viewers spotted it whilst watching Strictly and got in touch with the show’s head judge to make her aware.
She updated fans after a hospital visit on Friday, after many praised Shirley for sharing her story as she looks to find out what has caused the lump to appear.
The star wrote on Instagram: ‘Follow-up as promised. Today after not much sleep (my insomnia) and I took a trip to Kings College Hospital ultrasound department.
‘I believe the nurse could sense my anxiety and immediately put me at ease with her beautiful bedside manner.
‘As embarrassing as it is for me to be examined, the Doctors and Nurses only have our best interests at heart.’
Shirley shared the examinations she underwent, which included an internal probe on the ovaries, kidneys, adrenal glands as well as a scan on her stomach, adding: ‘Hopefully results soon.’
She went on to write how ‘beautiful’ it had been to receive so many messages from followers sharing warmth and concern for the Strictly judge.
Shirley added: ‘I will also be taking a trip back to see Dr Norman Waterhouse who took out my implants for an extra breast check. Check once check twice and keep checking. To you all thank you for caring.’
She received plenty more love in the comments of her latest post, with professional dancer Karen Hauer replying: ‘Positive energy going your way Shirley.’
Dan Walker said: ‘Good to hear you are being looked after Shirley. Take care. Sending you a socially distanced hug.’
Shirley previously said she was trying not to ‘dwell’ after discovering the lump as she awaits the results of her biopsy, saying: ‘It will be what it will be.’
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 6.45pm on BBC One.
