Christmas is coming and with it comes a whole new slew of festive romantic comedies.

Netflix viewers are in for a treat as Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes come together for A Castle for Christmas and we’re already obsessed.

Christmas, Castles and love interests butting heads – sign us up!

The official synopsis reads: ‘Famed author, Sophie Brown (Brooke Shields), travels to Scotland hoping to buy a small castle of her own, but the prickly owner, Duke Myles (Cary Elwes), is reluctant to sell to a foreigner.

‘Working to find a compromise, the pair constantly butt heads, but they just may find something more than they were expecting.’

Indeed, the trailer makes it clear that we’ll be getting all the tropes we know and love from the jump.

Before selling her the castle, Duke Myles lays out a set of conditions, including living at the castle at the same time as him before the sale goes through.

In the meantime, the duke reveals in the trailer that he plans to get Sophie’s down payment to tide him over financially, hoping she’ll want to leave by the time it’s all over.

However, Sophie has family history in the castle and she warns the duke: ‘If you’re trying to discourage me, you’re not gonna do it.’

We’ll give you three guesses to figure out how this all ends.

A Castle for Christmas is among several new holiday original movies on Netflix’s 2021 Christmas slate, including The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star, Love Hard and Single All the Way.

A Castle For Christmas is available to stream on Netflix from November 22.
