As cinemas start to open throughout the country and we slowly go back to enjoying some of our limited entertainment avenues once again, it’s already shaping to be super promising. A Pakistani film in a Pakistani cinema? Since there are not many films being made past two years, it almost feels surreal to be watching a Pakistani movie and that too in cinema.
But the happy news is that Khel Khel Mein is all set to hit the big screens nationwide on November 19, 2021. The cathartic teaser reveals little about the plot points in the movie, but shows the artful direction and vivid cinematography that can be expected in the film. Inspired by true events, the teaser depicts a very serious vibe as it shows glimpses of soldiers, war planes, and executions with a somber voiceover. It slowly builds onto a different setting surrounded by students involved in a theatrical rendition that is set to look back at the events of the Indo-Pak War of 1971.
Directed by Nabeel Qureshi and Produced by Fizza Ali Meerza, who were also behind projects like ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ and ‘Actor In Law,’ the movie is to be a historical drama that largely revolves around a group of students and their perspective to change the world. Showcasing the dynamic duo of Sajal Aly and Bilal Abbas Khan as its lead, the film also includes a star studded cast of Marina Khan, Javed Sheikh, Samina Ahmed and Manzar Sehbai.
Sajal Aly, posted the artistically curated trailer on her social media recently with a caption “Filmwala Pictures is excited to announce the first Pakistani film to be released post covid-19 and upon the opening of Cinemas nationwide. Thank you to all our fans for being so patient!”.
“Working with the finest producer and director duo in the country for the first time. Iss baar milte hain theatre mein,” shared Bilal, singing high praise for the production on this movie.
This will be the first time the duo of Sajal Aly and Bilal Abbas Khan will be witnessed on the big screen. Since their time together on the drama serial O’Rangreza, fans have been craving more of the incredible chemistry these two have on a screen. Colourful and highly suspenseful, the movie is widely anticipated by many and is sure to be a wild ride as it twists timelines, asks critical questions, and gives us a mixed taste of friendship and betrayal.
“Watch how love overcomes power and how creative ideas by the youth have the power to change minds.”
