Love Island’s Liberty Poole has revealed just how hard training for Dancing On Ice is, ahead of the show launch.
The 22-year-old reality star will compete against a number of celebrities for the ITV crown.
Speaking on the red carpet at the Pride of Britain Awards, she shared an update on how she is getting along on the ice.
Liberty told OK! Online: ‘I have been busy but I’m focussing on Dancing on Ice training, doing that Monday to Friday. Trying to get good, it’s harder than people think!
‘I’m enjoying it, me and my mum have been watching the show for years and I’ve always loved ice skating.
‘You have to sort of forget what you know and sort of start over again when it comes to figure skating, but I’m hoping it goes alright.’
Liberty isn’t the first Love Island star to take part in the ITV series.
Kem Cetinay appeared in series 10 and finished in fourth place, alongside Alex Murphy.
Wes Nelson, who was partnered with professional skater Vanessa Bauer, took part the following year, and was runner-up to winner James Jordan.
Maura Higgins finished the series in sixth place in season 12, beside Alexander Demetriou.
When asked if she hoped to do as well as the other islanders, Liberty admitted she has her ‘fingers crossed’ that she does well.
Liberty joins the likes of Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor former rugby ace Ben Foden and Pussycat Dolls singer Kimberly Wyatt in this year’s Dancing on Ice line-up.
Dancing on Ice returns to ITV early next year.
