Full white houses are often termed dull but they may save big bucks on your electricity bills.

Purdue University researchers have invented world’s whitest paint a title it received from the Guinness World Records. Apparently the paint may intensely decrease the need for air conditioning at homes.

The main idea behind creating the whitest paint was to reflect sunlight away from a building. Professor Xiulin Ruan’s lab creation replicates 98.1% of solar energy while producing infrared heat.

In order to produce the whitest paint the researchers used a very high application of a chemical compound called barium sulfate with various particle sizes.

The researchers have claimed that by covering a roof with the whitest paint of about 1,000 square feet would sanction a cooling power equal to 10kW.
