Cheryl is reportedly taking some time away from performing in the wake of the death of Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding.
The singer, 38, had cancelled appearances following the tragic news that Sarah, 39, had died following her battle with breast cancer and is now thought to be taking some time off to work through her grief.
A source told Closer: ‘The shock and devastation have hit her so hard. She’s not in any mindset to think about performing so she’s taking a little break to prioritise her wellbeing.’
Cheryl had performed at The Mighty Hoopla a day before Sarah died at the start of September and has not made any public appearances since.
She cancelled a performance at Birmingham Pride at the end of September, telling fans: ‘Saying goodbye to somebody you spent such a massive piece of your life with is like nothing else.
‘My heart is heavy. Grief is such a harsh experience and an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. Questions without answers and pain without resolve. So tumultuous and constant.
‘With that said I am so sorry but I really am not emotionally, mentally or physically able to perform for you this Saturday at Birmingham Pride.
‘I apologise wholeheartedly and I can only hope for your understanding. (I promise I will make it up to you somehow.)
‘I feel now I just need some time to sit with my feelings and process the grief. Nothing prepares you for this bit.’
Cheryl’s Mighty Hoopla performance signalled her return to music after taking some time away following the birth of her son Bear, who is now four years old.
Sarah had died on September 5, just 13 months after revealing she was battling breast cancer which had spread to other parts of her body.
