In the wake of current David Chappelle controversy, Netflix employees staged a walkout in solidarity with fellow Trans colleagues. The video streaming service received intense backlash for not censoring its TV Series ‘The Closer’ jokes targeting the LGBTQ community.

David Chappelle’s The Closer has been under criticism since the release of its last season. At the start of October, when the new season of the TV Series The Closer was about to air, the staff spoke out against ‘transphobic’ jokes in the show, while referring to the show producer, Dave Chapelle’s disturbing remarks proudly calling himself ‘Team TERF’, a term for those feminists who do not include the rights of trans women when standing up for women.

Netflix while seeing a boost in its subscriptions due to its global smash Squid Game, has been seeing its subscribers walk out simultaneously. The users are pissed at the company for overlooking such content and not taking a stand for its employees.

“The content is age-restricted already for language, and Dave himself gives a very explicit warning at the beginning of the show, so I don’t think it would be appropriate in this case,” said Ted Sarandos, the co-CEO Netflix while refusing to meet the employees’ demands for a disclaimer.
