Adele is treating her fans to plenty of face time in the run-up to the release of her eagerly anticipated new album 30 in November.

From stunning Vogue photoshoots accompanied by good old-fashioned nuggets of Adele’s appealing honesty to the drop of her first single in six years – Easy On Me – which is currently looking set to be the biggest number one record of the year, we’re getting lots of treats.

And did we mention that brilliant Instagram Live?

The latest news is the announcement of Adele One Night Only, a big one-off (obviously) TV programme for the singer, promising performances alongside a chat with interviewing icon Oprah.

Here’s the lowdown on everything we know about it so far, and what to expect from the exciting TV special.

What is Adele One Night Only and how can I watch it?

Adele One Night Only was initially announced with very little information on Monday on Instagram, with the singer posting a promo shot that announced it as a CBS production airing on November 14, five days before 30’s release date.

Since then, more details have come to light, revealing that the event is a two-hour special airing on the CBS Television Network in the US from 8:30pm Eastern Time and streaming live and on demand on Paramount Plus.

No details have yet been shared for UK and international viewers.

Adele One Night Only will be a hybrid concert performance and interview, offering fans of the 33-year-old the earliest opportunity to hear new material from Adele since 2015’s album 25.

Alongside a set of Adele classics and upcoming releases, the Londoner will also sit down with veteran broadcaster Oprah for an exclusive interview – and it if covers anything like the revelations Adele has recently been providing, it’s sure to be a fascinating watch.

In the accompanying announcement, the Oprah interview is described as Adele’s ‘first televised wide-ranging conversation about her new album, the stories behind the songs, life after divorce, weight loss and raising her son’.

It’s also to take place in the presenter’s rose garden – the very same location as Oprah’s bombshell interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle back in March. Is the stage being set for similar revelations?

In the same way that Harry and Meghan’s interview was the subject of a fierce bidding war between UK broadcasters keen to air the programme, it’s likely there will be no shortage of interested parties for Adele.

Without a formally announced UK broadcaster just yet, it’s likely a deal will be made in the coming days with a network or platform securing the rights to air (and/or stream) the special as soon as possible after the initial US broadcast.

For Harry and Meghan, ITV aired the blockbuster interview the day after, so it’s likely UK Adele fans could get to experience Adele One Night Only on November 15.

The singer has also revealed that she has yet to make ‘solid plans’ for a tour because of Covid, so it’s likely she’ll be channelling a lot of energy into her performances – and choosing her songs carefully – in order to tide fans over until she can play for them again in person.

Speaking to the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 on Friday, she said of any potential tour: ‘I don’t have solid plans because of Covid, it’s so hard to plan a global tour, in person.’

She shared that she has ‘a few options in the pipeline’ and will work out what is ‘most doable’, but after having to cancel her Wembley dates at the end of her last tour in 2017, she insisted ‘I don’t want to be cancelling anything again’.

She added: ‘Maybe I’ll be busking in the Tube!’

The singer has three albums’ worth of past hits to select from for Adele One Night Only’s concert portion, with her second album 21 now confirmed as the biggest-selling album ever from a female artist in the UK.

She also has hits like Chasing Pavements, Make You Feel My Love and Hometown Glory that first shot her to stardom in 2008.

There’s also perhaps unfinished business with 25’s songs, due to tour date cancellation, so fans can likely expect to hear colossal hit Hello and its follow up, When We Were Young.

As someone who is as at home in intimate venues as she is in massive stadiums, it’s also a possibility that Adele will match the private and informal setting of Oprah’s rose garden for the interview with a low-key setting for her musical performance.

However things are set to unfold, it’s safe to say millions of fans are counting down the days.

Adele One Night Only will air on CBS on November 14.
