WWE superstar Paige has dropped another hint at a potential in-ring return and fans are loving it.
The 29-year-old star was forced into a heartbreaking early retirement three years ago due to neck injuries, and fans have been clamouring for a comeback ever since she had to step away.
Over the past few weeks, she’s been dropping cryptic posts leading to plenty of speculation about her wrestling future, and her latest tweet has really got fans excited.
The caption-less post shows Paige’s wrestling boots alongside a poster for Fighting With My Family – the Dwayne Johnson-produced Hollywood flick about her rise to superstardom – and the classic Divas Championship belt.
Although known as the Anti-Diva, the former NXT Women’s Champion held the Divas Title twice, and with the first reign coming when she beat AJ Lee on her Monday Night Raw debut in 2014.
Now, this latest picture isn’t the only reason fans are hoping a comeback is finally on the cards.
Last month, Paige sent her followers wild as she simply wrote: ‘January’.
This could obviously mean absolutely anything, but plenty of WWE fans were happy to connect the dots and wonder if she could appear at that month’s Royal Rumble event.
The biggest – and most blatant – social media tease about a possible return came back in August as the British wrestling star outright said she had unfinished business.
Alongside a muscle-flexing emoji, she tweeted: ‘I’m not done yet.’
While a comeback has always seemed a long way off, the likes of Bryan Danielson, Christian Cage and Edge have all made sensational returns of their own after seemingly having their careers ended due to injury.
Responding to a video of the Rated R Superstar’s surprise Royal Rumble appearance in January 2020, Paige admitted the emotional moment gave her hope.
She simply tweeted: ‘Coolest thing ever. Gives people hope!’
