Killer Kelly has announced she is stepping back from wrestling due to health concerns.

The 29-year-old star – who has appeared on shows for the likes of WWE, IMPACT Wrestling, wXw and more since her debut in 2016 – revealed she ‘been having a lot of trouble breathing’, and she needs to make sure she takes time out to ‘fix’ the issue.

She said in a lengthy statement on Twitter: ‘Unfortunately, I’m writing something that really annoys me and I wish I could avoid. Since coming back to wrestling I’ve noticed that something was off.

‘I tried my best to hide it, mainly because I wasn’t understanding what was happening, and because I wanted to keep on wrestling. Thankfully none of you picked up on it, and only my opponents knew what was happening.

‘I’ve been having a lot of trouble breathing to the point I couldn’t take a breathe. And no, this isn’t Covid related, because I’ve never had it/don’t have it, it’s “just” me not being capable of breathing.

‘So, with that said, I pulled away from all my wrestling commitments for the year and I’m going to take some time away to fix my nose and my breathing. I didn’t want to do this but health should come first.’

After a few months away from the ring in 2020 due to the pandemic, Kelly started working again from mid-August until December 2020, when she teamed up with Renee Michelle in a losing effort to Jazz and Jordynne Grace.

Her next appearance came at BLP: Ground Control to Filthy Tom last month, where she faced Kylie Rae, which she followed up a couple of weeks later with a match against Leyla Hirsch.

Her third, and most recent, match of the year saw her face current ROH Women’s World Champion Rok-C at New Texas Pro Olajuwon.

Kelly has built up a fantastic reputation in the business, having held the wXw Women’s Title in the past and spent time with WWE, where she appeared on the 2018 United Kingdom Championship Tournament events and the Mae Young Classic the same year.

Plenty of fans and fellow wrestlers have sent messages of support on Twitter, including current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Nikki A.S.H..

Alongside two heart emojis, she simply wrote: ‘Sending you love’.
