Wendy Williams is still battling with poor health and will not be retuning to her show on October 4.

The TV star has been dealing with health issues for the past few weeks after testing positive for ‘a breakthrough case’ of Covid-19.

Wendy, who has been vaccinated, has been in quarantine since and was due to launch the new series of The Wendy Williams Show in a week’s time.

She has since tested negative for the virus.

However a message from the programme’s Instagram account announced the start date is likely to be October 18 to allow her to fully recover.

The statement read: ‘Wendy will not be returning with new shows on Oct. 4.

‘She has been and continues to be under a doctor’s care and is still not ready to return to work.

‘We plan to return with new shows on Oct. 18.’

It continued: ‘Her breakthrough Covid case is no longer an issue and she has tested negative, but she is still dealing with some ongoing medical issues.’

The show has been airing repeats in the interim while Wendy receives treatment.

Wendy had previously had to step down from her ‘promotional activities’ to allow herself time to fully recover.

Earlier this year, the US daytime talk show host shared an update on her condition with her Instagram followers.

In a photo, Wendy is seen sitting on a table with her swollen feet and ankles close to the camera to highlight the severity of her chronic condition, lymphoedema.

Lymphoedema is a long term chronic condition that causes swelling in the body’s tissues. It can affect any part of the body but typically occurs in the arms and legs.

In 2019, Wendy revealed she had been diagnosed with lymphoedema after addressing paparazzi photos of her swollen legs.

She has also detailed complications with Graves’ disease, an autoimmune condition which affects the thyroid.
