Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) 2023, known for its diverse literary offerings and
engaging activities, recently hosted an interactive workshop on Bath Bomb Making. The event
aimed to foster creativity and educate young minds about the science and art behind creating
delightful and fragrant bath bombs.
Under the guidance of experienced professionals in the fields of cosmetics and art, children
between the ages of 6 and 12 were introduced to the intricate process of crafting bath bombs.
Participants were introduced to baking soda, citric acid, Epsom salts, essential oils, natural
colourants, and key ingredients necessary to make bath bombs. The instructors guided them to
learn how to blend the dry ingredients, ensuring a smooth and even texture to guarantee a
satisfying fizzing reaction once the bath bomb comes into contact with water.
The addition of essential oils and natural colourants not only infused the bath bombs with
captivating scents but also added an artistic touch to the final product. With an array of
appealing moulds at their disposal, the young participants poured the mixture into moulds,
allowing it to set and take shape before carefully removing the finished bath bombs to take
home.
The workshop was designed to be both educational and entertaining, allowing participants to
immerse themselves in a hands-on experience while learning about the ingredients and
techniques required to produce their very own fizzy and aromatic bath bombs.
This unique workshop is amongst close to 1,000 diverse workshops at SIBF 2023, which are
designed to introduce young learners to new worlds of creativity and thinking.
