Arsenal hero Jack Wilshere says Brazil and Leeds United winger Raphinha would be a good signing for his former club.
The Gunners are targeting a number of signings this summer to bolster their squad after narrowly missing out on the top four last season.
A deal for midfielder Fabio Vieira looks to be in the advanced stages, with reports suggesting the north London club have agreed a deal worth €40million (£34m) with Porto.
Arsenal are also believed to be chasing deals for Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus and Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans.
Meanwhile, the Athletic have claimed that the Gunners are ready to battle their north London rivals Tottenham for Raphinha.
The 25-year-old is expected to leave Leeds after their relegation to the Championship, with Barcelona’s financial issues meaning the winger’s preferred switch to Camp Nou could be in doubt.
Former Arsenal midfielder Wilshere is in favour of the Gunners making a move for Raphinha.
‘For someone who’s only been in England for two years, he’s got a lot of experience,’ Wilshere told talkSPORT.
‘He came to England and just clicked straight away.
‘He was in a relegation battle last year so he knows he’s up for a fight.
‘I think he’d be a good one [signing] for Arsenal.
‘He’ll be expensive, of course he will.’
