DSC to Host 20 Sports Events, including 8 International Championships During the Weekend

20 various sports events, including 8 international championships, will take place during this weekend in different locations of Dubai, in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council.

Top on the list of the international events are the Hyrox Dubai International Fitness Championship, MMA Martial Arts Championship and Fazza International Athletics Championship for People of Determination.

The Hyrox Dubai International Fitness Championship will take place on Sunday 11th Feb. 2024 at Dubai World Trade Center with participation of 6000 athletes from UAE & overseas. Participants will compete in 12 various categories; these are: professional men, professional women, professional men double, professional women double, men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s double, women’s double, mixed double, men’s relay, women’s relay and mixed relay. The Championship is organized at 20 cities in 11 different countries; the most eminent of which are: Madrid, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, New York, Melbourne, Sydney and Dubai; the first host of the Championship in the Middle East. Winners will qualify to participate in the World Championship, scheduled next June in the Nice City of France.

573 male & female players from 71 States compete in the 15th Fazza International Athletics Championship for People of Determination – the Grand Prix Dubai 2024, to be held from 12th to 15th Feb. at the Track of Dubai Club for People of Determination. The Athletics Championship will launch Fazza International Championships for People of Determination 2024, celebrating 15 years of distinction & success, until it has been approved by the International Athletics Federation as a distinctive regional center in the Middle East & Asia.  

The Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Race will take place at the Waterfront in Deira with participation of 1500 contestants of multi-nationalities from UAE & overseas. Some of the most eminent participating countries are: America, Britain, South Africa, India, Egypt, the Philippines, China & other countries. In this regard, 60 teams will compete at the waterfront market in the speed race 200 M & 2000 M, in five different categories; these are: open category, mixed category, women category corporations category & community category. 

The Zaruba Fight Night MMA Martial Arts will be held Saturday 10th Feb. at Al-Habtoor Grand Resort, Dubai Marina, with participation of 18 boxers who will compete in tough nine bouts; top of which are the British Robbie Scott vs. the Egyptian Ahmed Sobhi / the Cameroonian Idris Devin Miffelo vs. his compatriot Jashel Tisha / Terrence Samih of Cameroon vs. Zakaria Bach of Morocco. The Championship will also witness the participation of the Egyptian Hamza Abdulla, the Pakistani Haroun Durrani, the Egyptian Omar Zaghloul, the Indian Shridara Saji, the Egyptian Walid Saad, the Cameroonian Big Boy Enomi, the Iranian Parsa Jango, the Syrian Ritchie, the Turkmenistan’s Dolet Regbo and the Cameroonian Abate Abate.

The Vertical running race, one of the most prominent races in the annual agenda, will be launched on Saturday 10th Feb. at the Media One Hotel with distinctive participation of contestants of multi-nationalities & different categories, including professionals & amateurs. Dubai World Modern Sailing Championship SP20 will be launched from 12th to 15th Feb. at Dubai Sailing & Rowing Club.

The DP World Cricket League ILT 20 continues at Dubai International Stadium. The Polo Golden Cup & the UAE Tour Women will also continue. The Queen’s Gymnastics Cup is taking place at Saeed Bin Maktoum Sports Hall in Al-Qusais. The Turkish Run Race is held at the Kite Beach, and the 1st Development Swimming Champions Cup is organized at Hamdan Sports Complex. Al-Salam Cycling Championship will take place at Al-Qudra Cycling Track in Al-Salam. The Private Corporate Championship continues at Bright Riders School, and the Adult Swimming Championship continues at Jebel Ali School in Damac Hills. Al-Karama Community Run is held at Al-Karama Park, and the 5th Labor Sports Tournament continues at ENOC Sports Arena Complex in Al-Quoz.
